Attorney General's Elder Hotline
The Attorney General established this statewide, toll-free hotline to assist individuals on a wide range of elder issues. The hotline is staffed by senior volunteers and serves as a resource for information and referral and mediation on a broad range of consumer protection issues including telemarketing & Sweepstakes, home improvement complaints and tenant/landlord issues.

Casa Latina, Inc.
Casa Latina offers Latino empowerment, education workshops and information and referral. Interpreters are available for medical appointments with patients whose physician is affiliated with The Cooley Dickinson Hospital in the Amherst, Northampton, Florence and Easthampton area, or for a patient who is currently at the hospital. 24 hour Emergency Room. Interpreters have 54 hours of training in medical interpreting. Casa Latina is able to provide interpreters in Spanish, Russian, Cambodian, Polish, Portugues and Vietnamese. Casa Latina has a new space in Amherst, located in the Bangs Center in the Senior Center. It is open every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Center for Public Representation
The Center for Public Representation is a not-for-profit agency which provides legal services and advocacy to people with mental illness or mental retardation. Individual representation is limited to children and adolescents in, or at risk of hospitalization or residential placement due to mental illness or emotional difficulties and to children or adults denied SSI or SSDI benefits (this program is not limited to those with mental disability.)
