Amherst Health Department
The Amherst Health Department provides information and referral for personal health services. There is a loan closet for medical equipment. The Health Department also offers immunizations on the 2nd Thursday of the month, handles public health complaints and issues tobacco permits. Environmental health services include restaurant inspections, lead paint inspections and housing inspections. Also available is a Cambodian outreach program addressing health education and domestic violence, parking permits for Amherst residents with a disability are available for parking in Amherst only, a Latina outreach worker addressing women's health and approval and inspection of septic tank installations.
